Electronic pest controls are used because it is safer than using poisons since there are no chemicals or sprays involved.  Many opinions exists for these devices both favorable and unfavorable.  Some people claim that the device works and others claim they are not very effective.  What is often not considered whether the mice problem was so bad that a professional should had been contracted.

Between the kids, the 2 cats, and a dog – it’s been a pain trying to figure out how to keep pests, especially mice, out of my home.  Living in farm country means in cold weather, the mice head in for the winter – so I bought this Electronic Pest Repeller to help manage the mouse problem.  So far, even with the dropping temperatures, I haven’t seen a single mouse in the house…pardon the rhyme.  If this keeps up all winter, I’ll have finally found a foolproof way to keep the house vermin-free and it’s something safe that I can use even though I have a toddler and some pets at home. So far, the results are great, and this is usually the time of year I start seeing the mice, so I’m very happy with how well it’s been working.

I had to plug this is in an out of the way outlet, the slight clicking noise it makes was driving my cat nuts!  Anyway, for my larger (somewhat drafty) home, I bought this electronic pest repeller – I’ve had problems with mice and the occasional roach (we live near warehouses, so it’s kind of expected).

This works great, but it does emit a slight clicking sound, so it’s best to put  this is an out of the way outlet – I have mine in the basement, where the mice usually are sighted and last October we caught nearly a dozen mice, this year, it’s been even colder – which is when we usually see them – and we’ve only caught 4, and none in the last week. I like seeing a big drop in the rodent problem, and I like that I’m not putting out some kind of poison and the finding the dead mice in the basement – this really works well for me, have already order two more – for my parents and my brother – we all have these kinds of problems, it’s just nice to have a better solution to it.

The Dangers of Destructive Disease Ridden Mice?

Mice are a lot more common than rats and can cause considerable damage to businesses and homes.  Mice are also prolific breeders and multiply very rapidly, six to ten liters of mice through-out the year is not uncommon.  Mice are capable of creating lots of economic damage. The way they cause damage is not from what they eat instead they contaminate food by their urine and feces.  Food, clothing, furniture, household appliances can all be damaged from these animals.

Their gnawing on wires can cause electrical shorts which in turn may cause fires.  Appliances large and small are not immune from these little pests.

In addition to their damaging ways they also transmit diseases such as salmonella (bacterial food poisoning) and others. When a contaminated mouse runs through food preparation areas they spread this contamination from one area to the next.  Individuals who get salmonella bacteria can get seriously ill with diarrhea, vomiting, fever and cold chills. Salmonella also affects the blood. Mouse salmonella may be distributed by means of mouse droppings as well.

Effective Defense Against Mice
Take the offensive against pint-sized home crashers such as mice, rats, and roaches using a Pest Offense electronic pest repeller. Easy to use and risk-free around family members and many household pets, the patented system transmits electronic pulses through the electrical wiring of the house to drive unwanted pests from your home so that they cannot eat or nest there. Random digital cycling puts a stop to pests from adjusting to the pulses, and one repeller unit is effective for one level of a typical size house. To use, simply plug the device into any 100 volt outlet and let it go to work–a surge protector safeguards against voltage variances and the indicator light doubles as a helpful night light. The repeller is furthermore EPA registered, FCC compliant, and UL listed. It is risk-free for dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, birds, fish, snakes, turtles, reptiles, and hermit crabs. It is not suggested in households with hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, minks, chinchillas, tarantulas, and other similar pets.

What do House Mice look like?
The full grown house mice is normally one to two inches long and has large ears, a pointed nose and tiny eyes.  Their tail is the same length as their body and head both together, which I am sure mother nature supplied to help them keep their balance.  The colors of the house mice are not the same as compared to pet store mice which typically are white with bands of black and brown. Instead they are normally light brown or gray, or could be a shade darker.  Their colors typically match their environment so they are not easily seen by their predators such as cats.

These pests have excellent hearing and talk to other mice by squeaking.  If you have ever been to a pet store or have had pet mice you have heard them squeaking away.

When are mice the most active?
Mice normally sleep during the day and are most active at night, looking for food, and building nests.  Their nests are lined with paper, cloth or whatever is available at the time and look like a loosely knitted ball.

Can I get rid of the mice myself?
It may be very tempting to solve your mice problem yourself.  However; in the long run you could put yourself, your family members and your house vulnerable to damageThis in turn may cause extreme distress and disease, therefore it is not worth the chance.   If you do decide to go ahead and attempt to solve your misfortune, use only store brought mouse traps and poison.  You may be successful by capturing or killing a few mice, but mice have a keen sense of smell and can detect the traps and poison and will avoid those areas all together.  Mice remember their pathways to food and water, have an incredible taste sense. Therefore it will be difficult to fool a mouse with traps and poisons.  The Pest Repeller therefore is your best line of offense.
